Prosecutors: clear evidence Demjanjuk was at camp
MUNICH (AP) -- A prosecutor has insisted
in closing arguments to a Munich court that there is clear evidence
John Demjanjuk served as a guard at the Nazis' Sobibor death camp from
March to September 1943.
Hans-Joachim Lutz said March 22, 2011, there was "no reasonable doubt"
that
Demjanjuk served at the camp. He cited six historical documents that
had been presented to the Munich state court as evidence.
Demjanjuk is accused of 28,060 counts of accessory to murder for
allegedly being a guard at the camp in occupied Poland. He denies the
charges.
Demjanjuk lay on a bed in the courtroom on March 22, wearing a baseball
cap and sunglasses.
The 90-year-old's trial opened in November 2009. A verdict is
anticipated in May 2011.
